Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare donate $22,000 to The Salvation Army to help provide turkeys
to families this Thanksgiving.
The Salvation Army has partnered with Contemporary Christian artist Matthew West and the Awakening Foundation for the My Story Your Glory concert series to provide support for families in need this Thanksgiving. West kicked off the tour on October 19th in Jackson, Missouri and will visit a total of 22 locations in the United States throughout this fall. A $22,000 donation will be made to The Salvation Army on behalf of Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare along with Matthew West and will contribute to purchasing turkeys for families in need this Thanksgiving.
“Last year The Salvation Army served nearly 156 million meals to people in the US. We are grateful for our partnerships with organizations like Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare. It is because of them that we are able to meet the needs of those who need us most during the holidays and also throughout the year” said Commissioner Kenneth Hodder, National Commander for The Salvation Army.
“Bringing faith based live events across the country is our passion, partnering with The Salvation Army to help those who cannot help themselves brings us purpose. We are very excited to present Matthew West’s My Story Your Glory tour this holiday season and provide turkeys and meals to those who would otherwise have none. We look forward to seeing you this Fall at one of our events as we celebrate gratitude” said Awakening Foundation Co-Founders. Dan and Marti Fife.
Throughout the tour, West will be encouraging fans and the public to share on social media what they are grateful for this season using #GobbleGratitude.
